INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

We are proud to become part of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) family! The IOC together with the IL National Olympic Committee, has elected The Alley Athletics project as deserved project to be supported by the Fund for Programmes Assisting Refugees. The Fund was established by the IOC and the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to support kids around the world suffering from the refugees’ world crises.

The Alley Athletics is a non-profit professional track and field club aiming to empower girls and boys by meaningful athletic activity without any prejudice and regardless the kids background (“color blindness”) including youth from the asylum seekers community in Tel Aviv Jaffa.

The IOC and UNHCR, have long recognised the importance of sport and recreational activities for young refugees’ well-being, healing and development, especially children. For the past two decades, the two organisations have been using sport in camps across the globe to offer refugees some relief and enjoyment. Consequently, thousands of refugees have already benefitted from sports programs and from equipment donated by the IOC.
